Stylish dog harnesses made in the UK
A common question we get asked is should I buy a dog collar or a dog harness. There are several reasons why a dog can wear a dog harness instead of, or as well as, a dog collar.
Perhaps you are training your dog or puppy who hasn’t yet learned to walk on a lead in which case you will benefit from more control. A harness will prevent your puppy from getting tangled up in the leash and possibly hurt in the process. Harnesses are also great for smaller, more delicate breeds such as chihuahua’s as a harness disperses the pressure across the whole body rather than just around the neck area therefore reducing strain on the neck and back. Harnesses also discourage pulling. When your dog is wearing a collar and pulls on the leash, they still move forward, which makes them think the pulling is successful. A dog harness, whether attached on his chest or between his shoulder blades, redirects him; there’s no reward because pulling doesn’t get him anywhere.
